natureWith Switzerland experiencing its hottest summer since 1864, finding the right areas to swim in is of utmost importance – and there sure is no shortage of choice. We’ve compiled a small list of the country’s best swimming locations:

Valle Verzasca – Locarno, Ticino
The Verzasca River is so magical that you must witness it with your own eyes to believe it. Its jade green waters are what offer a truly beautiful location to swim and relax in. Explore further down the river to come across distinct rock shapes and natural jacuzzis.

Caumasee – Flims, Gaurbunden
The turquoise waters at Lake Cauma are a spectacular sight, so you may want to bring your camera along with you. If you’re more for the adventurous side of life, rock jumping and paddle boating are two fun activities that are popular in the area.

Bettmersee – Bettmeralp, Valais
Bettmersee Lake’s idyllic and peaceful environment is something worth experiencing. At around 2,000 metres above sea level, plunging into the cold waters is probably best reserved for the hardier swimmer, but nonetheless, the lake looks so inviting that you may find it hard to resist. For those who would rather not swim, the location is also suitable for a picnic and offers boating and pedalo options.

Bains des Paquis – Geneva, Vaud
One of the most popular spots in Geneva, this beach can fill up quite easily. It is suitable for children as well, with all kinds of activities on offer. From waterslides and games of waterpolo, to a workout area – this beach has something for everyone.

Silversee – Grisons, Graubunden
Last, but certainly not least – Nestled in the Upper Engadin Valley, Lake Sils is an excellent choice for those eager to take a dip – but also enjoy some watersports. The surrounding scenery is just as impressive.
